I'm not sure whether to call you Gail or Mrs. Levine or a friend, but I want to tell you how much I adore your books. Ella Enchanted and Fairest are great favorites on my bookshelf, and I think I've read Ella Enchanted at least ten times. They inspire me so much in my own writing.
I actually wanted to ask you if you would answer some questions for me. In my English class, we're doing a study project and are supposed to interview someone in that profession. My topic is writing, and it would be truly amazing if you could help me, though I understand if you are too busy. If you are able to answer them though, I wrote my email under where they asked for my name and you can contact me there.
Your books are one of the first I ever learned to love, and that I could read thousands and thousands of times without ever getting tired. I can't tell you how much they have meant to me in my life.

I just wanted to say that I adore all of your books. I work at a book store and yours are the first I recommend. I first read Ella Enchanted when I was in the 8th grade. It immediately became my favorite book (and it remains so, beating out books like the Harry Potter Series and the Lord of the Rings trilogy). I have read it at least 30 times and now read it several times a year. I just started my 8 year old sister on it, and it's the first book to make her "see pictures" in her mind. Thank you for writing such amazing books. I check every day I work if there is going to be a new one out. You're an inspiration and my favorite author of the 100's I love. Thank you for giving me characters to weep for, cheer on, sympathize with, hope with, and fall in love with.

I love your book Writing Magic; Creating Stories That Fly.
After reading it I realized how much I had been "telling" instead of "showing". Now my story writing is going along much better. My charaters are having personalities, though I know not all of their likes and dislikes will make the final cut.

Lauren--There are many books about publishing. I'm not an expert. You might also see what comes up if you do some online research on publishing as a teen.
